About Jorge
Jorge was Born in Ica Peru to a family well established in the Peruvian Paso Horse breed. Jorge's father managed the farm at Fundo Cantoral for his brother-in-law Hugo Nieto Suarez. By the late 1940's the farm was home to the Santa Vicenta Breeding Ranch. This ranch was known, as it is today, for its superior quality horses. The name Hugo Nieto Suarez is synonymous with many of the foundation horses found in American stock. Such famous horses as HNS Oro Viejo, HNS Cantoral, Cynthia, *Vendimia, *HNS Domingo, *HNS Aureo, *Gan Sur Frieda, *HNS Iqueno, HNS Laura I, *HNS Marinera and many more.
As a child this was his classroom, riding and caring for horses. He credits his uncle Hugo Neito Suarez and Maestro Humberto Pellan with all his early knowledge. Horses, more specifically Peruvian Paso Horses, have been Jorge's passion his whole life. Coming to the US he established himself with Raul Del Solar learning and showing under him for years.
In addition to a lengthy education in traditional training for Peruvian Paso Horses, Jorge has been educated in dressage and alternative training methods for other breeds.
For over 30 years now Jorge has been an independent trainer and breeder accumulating countless show titles for his horses and his clients. In addition to competitive showing, Jorge's trains horses for the trails and all-around great family horses. Helping clients realize their dreams and goals with their horses has been a great pleasure and honor.
Breeding Program
Jorge is a respected breeder and is the co-founder of Rancho Santa Vicenta. One might see the initials RSV on many outstanding horses in this breed, and where many US National Champions have come from. Today Jorge is still striving for the best. JLV (Jorge Luis Valenzuela) horses are bred for strength, conformation, willing temperament, and that smooth gait and powerful brio that makes the Peruvian Paso horses so great. You can still see RSV horses winning in the show arena and out on the trails, at ages 12 and older! Today you will see his breeding initials JLV on horses entering the show arena. Jorge limits his breeding's to 2 or 3 a year, and are rarely offered for sale.
*2022 Tenuvian (3/4 Peruvian Paso and 1/4 Tennessee Walking Horse) offspring will be offered for sale. We have concentrated our efforts this year on breeding select mares to our Tenuvian stallion RSV Khemosabi. Check out his page for more info on him! Offspring will be 100% gaited and tobiano coloring.

The totals are in! The number of wins since 2008 have been added up and the numbers are impressive. These numbers represent horses that were either ridden, trained, or bred by Jorge Valenzuela or Rancho Santa Vacenta. Jorge Valenzuela has been breeding, showing and training for over 25 years if we were to total all those years the numbers would be staggering! There may exist few number errors due to lost records, Laureados and other titles won are not shown here.

" I have owned Peruvian Paso horses for 35+ years, plus been active in the administration of Peruvian Paso Horse shows. With this exposure to all facets of the breed, I can easily say, a more talented horseperson cannot be found. Jorge Valenzuela has proven his ability to train, show and manage horses, as the statistics have proven, over and over. More importantly, Jorge is "in tune" (simpatico, might be a better word) with horses, understanding what they need, when they need it. That includes all aspects of horse husbandry, as well as the more subtle aspects of the Peruvian Paso breed. Due to his honest nature, Jorge Valenzuela is the ONLY person I would ever consider for a partnership in the ownership of a horse. I cannot possibly express my satisfaction in owning a partnership in RSV Payaso."

"Jorge Valenzuela has been a steady and absolutely trustworthy resource for us for many years. He has trained several of our horses, sold horses for us and we have purchased a horse from him as well. In every case he has been strictly honest, very helpful and unwaveringly reliable. He has the ability to quickly understand what a horse or person needs and gets right to the point of dealing with what needs to be done. We would recommend him without hesitation as a trainer, consultant, broker and advisor."
Darold Bigger Barbara & Darold Bigger Orion Ranch "I have known Jorge Valenzuela for more than 25 years and observed him as a trainer for all of that time. I have used him to train several horses for Cathy and myself for both show and trail riding. When brought home they have all been trained to be able to use each of their fullest abilities. One of his greatest training strengths is that he trains all horses for the individual owner’s use. He has trained horses for us that we can both ride and enjoy which is not always the case with other trainers. I would highly recommend Jorge as a trainer for all disciplines."

"I came to know Jorge when I attended his Open House last year and fell in love with a 2 yr. old filly. Since first meeting him my life has changed. In the short time I have been a client of his I have learned so much about horses. I am at his ranch 4 days a week and besides my lessons he lets me watch him train his young horses or problem horses. His patience and understanding of horses is truly amazing and the horses have such respect and trust in him. Jorge can do it all and he does from minor medical problems to trimming feet. But the one thing that makes him special to me is his love of the Peruvian Breed and taking the time to always answers my unending questions in my quest to learn as much as I can about this breed. He has been there for me and my stallion always helping when I needed help in the beginning when I first came to his training facility. I started with my stallion and ended up buying that 2 yr. old filly I first feel in love with and I have since added another young filly which I co-own with Jorge and just recently bought a gelding as a trail buddy. It is because of Jorge and the passion I see in him that has made me want to be so involved in horses!"
